    Vancouver’s Story

Recently, I was thinking back on the three wonderful years that I enjoyed as the Marketing Manager for the Museum of Vancouver in Vanier Park. Some of the highlights included working on campaigns for the Happy Show, All Together Now, and Cesnam exhibitions. It was an incredible honour to have access to the city’s collection of objects and belongings in the museum’s “vault” and to gain a greater understanding of how this city came to be. I’m proud that the institution still uses the slogan that I wrote: “Where Vancouver’s Story Begins.”

Here’s a link to the 2015 Annual Report that I designed and wrote (with exceptions of the forwards).

  • It’s a blast!

Here’s the last campaign I worked on at the PNE. I came up with the concept and visuals, collaborated on the new Playland logo, and wrote the script. Just wait until you see the rest of the ads and social posts!

  • PNE Rebrand

    PNE Rebrand

During the PNE’s corporate rebrand in 2023, my colleagues and I worked with Cossette to create a new logo. I ended up choosing the PNE’s new primary font, writing copy for the announcement, and subsequently directed the creation of the company’s sub-brands including Playland.

  • Resurrection

When Fright Nights was allowed to re-open in October 2022, we warned people: “Prepare to Scream Your Face Off…” To tease the return of scare actors to Western Canada’s Favourite Haunt, I created videos of our ‘monsters’ coming back to ‘life’.

This video might make keep you awake at night.

  • Fill Up On Fun

    Fill Up On Fun

When the PNE returned to an in-person, full scale Fair in 2022, the objective of the advertising campaign was to convey that we’d be “celebrating to the fullest” and show how much entertainment was included with admission. In addition to copy writing, script writing (see video), and art direction, we made hollow 3D letters out of plexiglass, so we could fill them with recognizable Fair foods to use as props for photos and social posts.

  • Blue’s Tour

BCAA is one of the PNE’s primary sponsors. To highlight the partnership, I filmed their mascot “Blue” touring the PNE Fair festivities and attractions, including BCAA’s safety program and ToonCity Stage.

  • Skybender

    Skybender

“Do you want to go higher?” Playland added a new ride in 2022, but it needed a name, ideas for the environment around it, and a direction for the graphics. I collaborated with PNE and Playand senior management to come up with Skybender – inspired by a Gryphon, planned with physical spaces around the ride including art directing the colours, graphics, and logo creation. I also wrote the copy for the Legend of Skybender backstory, and created the “Spread your wings” and “I’m so fly” slogans at the entrance and exit photo opportunity.

  • RIP Music Express

When this beloved Playland attraction was retired to make space for the new Skybender ride, I created this humourous yet mournful video set to a classic Sarah McLachlan song, which garnered over 43,000 views.

  • For Fun’s Sake

    For Fun’s Sake

Before Playland opened in 2021, I was tasked to create a fresh approach for the season without new photography as everything the previous year included guests in masks. My irreverent slogan and radio script paired well with these bold graphics, and garnered a significant response from our audience, who were eager for a laugh.
